With soaring energy and raw material prices increases now is the time to replace or renovate those draughty windows.

Heron Joinery have been supplying and installing high performance bespoke hardwood sash windows and doors in Cardiff and South Wales for these past 40 years. All of our products are manufactured from selected kiln dried hardwoods that are from sustainable resources.

Box sash window replacement

Replace the whole of the existing window including internal architraves and sill boards retaining all of the period details, to retain the character of the windows, incorporate high performance nylon pile weather seals to the parting and stop beads to ensure a draught, dust free window. All of the double glazing's units comply with local building control and are made up of low E warm edge spacer bar and Argon gas filled, other glazing options are available: i.e. Acoustic noise reduction, toughened, obscure, triple and stained lead work.

If the sashes and main boxes (frames) are in good condition we remove the parting and stop bead, replace with new high performance drought proof nylon pile that are machined and bonded into the timber, upgraded to the same specification as our new window replacements, remove sashes to enable the replacement of existing pulleys and sash cords.

Box sash overhaul and maintenance

Replace parting and stop beads including pulley wheels and sash cords, remove both of the sashes and replace with new - including any original details, glazed with high performance low E Argon filled double glazed units which comply with the current new build heat loss Building Regulations.

New windows and all of our replacement items come fully painted with low maintenance micro-porous paint; there are over three hundred colours to choose from.

Many of the sash windows in Cardiff and South Wales area are in excess of fifty years old and in the past have seen little or no maintenance, as a result the main sill and a section of the uprights might need to be replaced with new hardwood ones including a damp proof membrane.
